The Ground Support Group was founded by Mike Kooiman.
Mike Kooiman is a specialist designer builder with 30 years experience in the construction industry specialising in the design and construction of building solutions including on challenging residential and commercial sites. He has also spent the last 10 years developing specialist construction systems including a tunnelling system, adjustable pile cap and masonry jacking system, the QuakeStrap TM, PortaLoc tM and BeamLoc TM systems.
Mike has a large amount of mechanical and structural design knowledge which he utilises to design and build solutions and if required will design the machinery to carry out specific jobs.
The PortaLoc TM and BeamLoc TM systems are a portal frame and beam systems designed to attribute bracing units to a residential building by virtue of a tabled design solution back by producer statements. The products will be manufactured in flat pack and available through major building suppliers nationwide.
The PortaLoc TM and BeamLoc TM systems are currently undergoing testing in conjunction with Weltec (Wellington Institute of Technology) with an expectation that the products will be ready for testing by BRANZ in early 2015.
